Passion is Nothing without Action

Hello Kababayan!

Thank you for visiting my Website.

I just want to share my short story how I started working online.

I officially started year 2014, a memorable year in my life. A year of transition from being a graveyard shifter to flexible online worker at home.

Before we proceed, I want to give you a background. I tried freelancing year 2011, when I am still working in a daytime shift (9am to 5pm). However, I wasn’t able to push through. I think, my mindset that time is to earn experience and I am loving my workplace.

Due to responsibilities to my family, I decided to move to another company as Call Center Agent. Year 2012, I was able to send my brother to school by just providing him allowance and lodging since we are far from our hometown. Probably it’s a blessing in disguise, my brother didn’t push through and just decided to work also (by the way, my brother returned to school and now in Israel for OJT, thanks to my sister).

I took advantage hopping to different Call Center for higher income. Many times I was rejected until finally I was able to land a job! Still in a Call Center but with higher income.

It was 2014, I am earning good so far, with Health Insurance for me and my dependents. The catch? I am scheduled in graveyard shift most of the time! I am not against those working graveyard, but for me, based on my experience it is unhealthy. I decided not to stay for too long.

I prayed and asked God, as a Volunteer Worker in our church, I need a better schedule. I remember a friend who introduced me about freelancing via Odesk (Now Upwork) year 2011. So why not try again? My boyfriend (now my husband) also helped me to work on my freelancing profile while working graveyard at the same time. Sometimes I am at work and he is texting me or calling me about a tasks! How funny!

It didn’t last long. I thanked God for His favor upon me, upon my husband. We were able to get a long term contract! After 10 months in the last call center where I worked, I decided to go full time in freelancing. It is not one but I was able to get another long term contract!

Lesson? It is not all about Passion. You have to take it into Action!

It really takes some time to establish integrity and trust with clients online. You need to prepare a strong profile for you to get noticed.

Have you tried to write in a paper the things YOU CAN DO? How about the things YOU WANT TO DO? Set a goal, list down how to accomplish it. Sometimes, you have to PUSH YOURSELF to do BETTER! ASK, BE TRAINED, BE MENTORED. Use GOOGLE wisely! :)

I hope you enjoyed and inspired with my short story. Remember, we all start from a scratch. I am still learning until now! Keep going!

God bless you!
